Patricia Emerson is the Co-Founder and serves as Co-Chair of Oasis Partners in Ministry. She has two Bachelor's degrees, Psychology from The University of Virginia and Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. In 2006, Patricia launched her Ministry by moving to Ghana with her son Mark. She lived and ministered there for 3 years before moving back to Suffolk, Virginia. Since then, Patricia has been on more than twenty mission trips. She is determined to develop a ministry that will bring health, wellness, and healing to the nation of Ghana by addressing health, homelessness, education, poverty, and spiritual well-being. Currently, Patricia is furthering her education at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, finishing up her Master's degree in Evangelism & Missions on her way to a Doctoral degree in Ministry. Her goal is not simply to be a willing vessel but also to be qualified for the call of God on her life.
Mark Powell Jr is the Co-Founder and serves as Co-Chair of Oasis Partners in Ministry. He has a bachelors of science in psychology from Old Dominion University. He has been on over 8 mission tips including living in Ghana for a year and a half in his teens with his mom and spending 3 months in Ghana by himself in his early twenties. He loves Ghana's culture and food. Although he currently resides in Portsmouth, VA his heart lives with the people of Ghana and he hopes to live there fulltime in the future.
Lisa Stevenson is from Chesapeake,Va. She graduated from UVA in 1990, and William and Mary Law in 1993. She is an author who also enjoys sharing her passion for writing and taught composition part-time at Hampton University. She currently spends approximately ten months out of the year in Ghana where she serves as the vice president of the Oasis Ghana board and volunteers at a local school in Takoradi teaching composition.
Tiana Stevenson is the current secretary for Oasis Partners in Ministry. Her philosophy in life is always be open-minded and you never fail just results to learn from. Tiana is a Junior year student at VCU majoring in Criminal Justice concentration of forensic science. After graduation, she plans to continue her education and traveling to new places. She is creative ,adaptable , and ambitious. Tiana has been a part of Oasis Partners in Ministry since her first visit to Ghana when she was only 3 years old.
Dr. Herbert C. Emerson, Jr., serves as the Treasurer of Oasis Partners in Ministry. He hails from Suffolk, Virginia. He has a Ph.D. in Management of Organizational Leadership. He also has a Masters in Information Systems and Technology. His professional expertise has led him to conduct research on the influence of E-Learning, particularly its effects on educational learning environments and its role in educating students in Ghana. He has been on several mission tours to Ghana. He strongly believes that education is the key to change. His personal interests include bowling, swimming, old movies, basketball, flying, and music.
