Access to Clean Water

At least 76% of households in Ghana are at risk of drinking water that is contaminated with fecal matter or toxic heavy metals, such as mercury or lead. The lack of safe drinking water and sanitation can result in malnutrition, malaria, and sometimes fatal water-borne illnesses like intestinal nematode infections and lymphatic filariasis. These problems significantly undermine quality of life for many of Ghana's population and causes Ghana to have a high unsafe water attributed mortality rate. With the help of our partners we have been able to build water wells that have helped over 4500 Ghanaians get access to cleaner water.
