Our History

Oasis Partners in Ministry was founded in 2006 by Patricia Emerson and her 14-year-old son, Mark Powell, Jr. Three years prior, during a prayer service at Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, Virginia, Patricia’s section of the church was mandated to pray for the countries of West Africa. She faithfully took on this assignment, fasting and praying. Shortly after that, Patricia received instruction from God to become qualified for the call of God on her life. With encouragement from her Pastors, Joseph and Debra Hill of Love Center Family Church in Suffolk, VA, she sold her house and moved to Oklahoma to attend Bible college. Upon graduation, God spoke to her again, calling her to the continent she had been praying for all of these years. Patricia moved to Takoradi, Ghana, and launched Oasis Partners in Ministry. Today, Patricia continues to run the ministry with her son, Mark, daughter, Justice, and her husband, Dr. Herb Emerson, to partner with individuals and organizations to bring health, wellness, and healing to the nation of Ghana. The ministry has given away thousands of dollars in scholarships, provided lifesaving clean water, and has ministered food, shelter, and medical support to thousands in Ghana, West Africa.
